BIOGRAPHY
Prof Ong is the Head of Physics Department. He is also an adjunct professor in the National University of Singapore and a visiting Professor in Lanzhou University, China. He is a fellow of the Institute of Physics, UK. He served in an editorial board of Superconductor Science and Technology (2002-4), International Journal of Modern Physics B (2002-6), and Modern Physics Letter B (2002-6). He was a frequent visitor to the International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italy and Atomic Energy Research Establishment, Harwell, UK. He published more than 600 papers with H-index 50, one book on microwave published by Wiley and a US patent. He supervised 34 PhD students and 34 MSc students and 58 Honours year students while he was in the National University of Singapore. He was awarded an University Outstanding Researcher Award in the National University of Singapore in 2010.
